Main Functions will be to:
Develop and implement a robust Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD) Strategy and be accountable for the targets set for the ESD stream
Be accountable for the execution of ESD , including the coordination of such execution with any other IBM or external resources as appropriate / mandated
Be accountable for ensuring that IBM achieves the targets set under the BEE scorecard for the ESD stream
Be accountable for ensuring that IBM spends according to the IBM governance framework to achieve the target set under the BEE scorecard for the ESD stream
Manage, track and monitor all ESD activities within IBM SA and ensure consolidation and alignment with the broader IBM SA strategy, BEE strategy and other streams
Provide thought leadership, strategic direction and best practices on matters pertaining to ESD in line with legislative requirements and the ICT / broader market
Implement, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the ESD stream and those beneficiaries and or stakeholders aligned thereto
Develop a communication and marketing plan for ESD that is optimum and practical
Stay abreast of and advise internal stakeholders on risks / changes in legislation or market landscape pertaining to ESD
Set organisation wide ESD performance standards taking into account the requirements of ICT Sector Code / Charter and Codes of Good Practice on Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (and updates thereof) together with the company’s own transformational goals
Build and manage relationships with relevant bodies and organisation – these include DTI, MICT SETA, Industry Bodies, Verification Agencies, Black Management Forum, BUSA etc. – towards ensuring in-depth familiarisation and understanding of all B-BBEE legislation and regulation as it pertains to all ESD elements
Support the IBM B-BBEE executive in managing project execution of ESD for the achievement of the overall B-BBEE Strategy
Manage the pipeline and selection process of beneficiaries for training and development in the ESD programme, including but not limited to all internal IBM process and governance
Required Professional and Technical Expertise
Tertiary qualification / 3 year commercial or related degree
5years working experience in a similar role
Strong Project Management skills
Appropriate training and experience in transformational strategies in the discipline of Enterprise & Supplier Development
Functional and technical knowledge and experience with of current B-BBEE legislation and reg
Deep understanding and insights into the plight of typical black South African entrepreneurs with respect to access to capital, operational effectiveness, market research and development, coaching and mentoring techniques, sales and marketing, networking and general business development.
A sound level of business acumen and knowledge
The ability to develop and deliver integrated programmes and projects
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
Experience in or around the ICT environment
Previous experience within Procurement and prior managerial exposure
7years working experience in a similar role
