SHEQ Controller will be responsible the SHEQ programme and maintaining compliance with statutory/legal requirements
Duties:
Implementation of SHEQ standards and procedures ensuring compliance
through daily site visits
Reduction of injury and damage incidents
Incident Investigations
Conduct Internal safety audit reports; monthly, quarterly and annual statutory inspections
Identifying training requirements
Conducting bi-annual and quarterly job observations
Risk identification and rectification
Incident Investigation
Experience & Qualification
Matric (Grade 12) level of education
Intro to SAMTRAC or SAMTRAC (would be advantageous)
Any additional SHEQ-related qualifications would be an advantage
Completed Incident investigation (level 3 investigation advantageous)
At least 2 – 3 years’ experience in the SHEQ field/systems and sound knowledge with proven experience of all aspects of stevedoring/port operations
The ability to conduct SHE inductions
Strong administrative skills and ability
Assertiveness with strong supervisory skills
Ability to work proactively, in a disciplined manner and without supervision
