Qualifications:
Matric
Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts (preferred)
Minimum / Previous experience:
Experience of working in a professional kitchen or similar position.
Experience supervising kitchen operations.
Skills, Abilities & Personal Attributes:
Works well under pressure, honest, maintains high levels of accuracy, uses creative flair in all aspects of food, good communication skills, ability to work within a team, ability to implement and maintain hygiene standards, creativity and innovative ideas will be highly advantageous, must have experience in all aspects of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation, cooking and serving of banqueting meals;
Maintain effective communication with all team members to ensure proper service;
Ensure all kitchen areas are cleaned daily;
Ensure all meals are served as per recipe and specification;
Perform tasks as communicated by Senior Chefs;
Must be able to work quickly while under pressure;
Ensure effective stock ordering, its receipt, rotation and storage;
Assist other kitchen staff as need arises;
Work towards exceeding customer’s expectation and promoting high level of service;
Adhere to portion controls consistently;
Ensure all dishes are prepared according to specification and served at the correct quality, portion size, and temperature and ensure proper presentation and garnishing of food;
Maintain the kitchen’s hygiene standards;
