Leading National Construction Co seeks Site Foreman / Engineer with min 3 – 5 yrs experience on medium to large projects – superstructures & other ( all areas covered in work scope will be adv)

Manage sub contractors and allocate tasks

Monthly programs & updates with sub-contractors

Quality control on wet works and other

Correct measurement of works for payment

Quantify materials required for daily/weekly activities

All architectural changes as per plans – able to read plans

Manage time sheets for machinery operated and delays

Site demolition clearing

Set out: foundation excavations, levels for column bases and ground beams, columns according to land surveyors grid lines, ground works for concrete surface beds

Duties as Site Engineer
Safety

Attending weekly staff toolbox talk
Attended weekly site safety walks
Issuing of hot work permits and ensuring DSTI’s are correct
Ensure all subcontractors are inducted before commencement of work
Managing and driving Progress programme

Management of driving each activity to achieve programme dates
Resource coordination to achieve maximum progress
Programme updates with each sub-contractor from structural to finishing
Attended and chaired package meetings from services to finishing’s
Forecasting weekly activities
Mitigating delays and drawing up of recovery plans
Site engineering queries

Management of:

Design clashes regarding structural, services and finishing’s
Site instructions are correctly carried out
All relevant drawings are submitted on time
All drawing alterations are approved before submittal
Quality

Management of:

All check list is signed before and after an activity
All setting out from structural to finishing’s are correct according to drawing specification and detail in conjunction with a general foreman.
Snagging of completed work and signed off by an architect
Correct structural work procedures are followed and are according to an approved method statement.
On time approval of sample work to ensure no delays

Qualifications

National Diploma: Building Science or similar technical qualification

Matric essential

Project Management Software: Primavera or MS Projects or other

MS Office : excel, word, outlook

Min 3 – 5 years on site experience on medium / large construction projects
