Responsibilities:
The Facility / Operations Manager are Responsible for overseeing and planning for the following areas, either individually or within a team;
Access and Security related too; keys, safes, security guards, visitors, staff.
Waste Management; biological, general waste.
Electricity
Water/Plumbing
Air Conditioning / Fresh Air: General air flow and quality
Freezers / Fridges
Backup Generator
Pest Control
Fire Safety; Equipment service / Safety check.
H&S Officer to vendors working on site; ensure vendors comply with H&S guidelines.
Gas Cylinders; CO2; LPG.
General Maintenance and upkeep, for example, plumbing, minor electricity, woodwork, welding (hot work), painting, minor repairs where needed etc.
Arrange service events with Vendors related to Operations; obtain quotes, minor management of records of quotes, orders and Invoices.
Project management; plan, prepare budgets for projects and oversee.
Maintaining a good recordkeeping of service logbooks, completed checks and equipment databases; as per company procedures.
Manage a team of one or more workers related to operations
Write/Review Standard Operating Procedures
Provide training related to Operations
Project Management on new laboratory extensions
Requirements:
Grade 12
Operations / Management qualification
5 years’ experience within a similar role
Being from a science background will be to your advantage.
Have experience / good understanding about Quality Assurance; to work in a compliant manner to rules/regulations set out by the quality department or other regulatory bodies.
Available on weekends to perform tasks.
Available afterhours for crises management.
Own reliable transport with a valid driver’s licence.
