Scope: Performs a variety of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping activities as well as a support function for the accounts department.
Qualifications and experience
Matric
Bcom / Diploma in Accounts
1- 2 years’ experience in a similar role(advantageous)
Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Knowledge/ Skills and Abilities
Accuracy and high attention to detail
Planning and prioritizing ability
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving skills
Familiar with basic accounting procedures
Can do “attitude”
Ability to work in a team
Roles and Responsibilities
Capture all invoices and conduct recons
Process all payments to suppliers and customers
Attend to customer and supplier payment queries
Pro-active follow – up on invoices (payments due) or not paid
Follow – up internally and recon delivery notes with invoices
Ensure that monthly creditors reporting and payments are made accurately and timeously.
Ensure accurate and timeous reconciliations
Up keep of general filing
Ad-hoc duties as and when required
Relieve receptionist periodically
