execution of shipping plan & delivery of final product from point of origin to the client at the agreed time & place.The incumbent will analyze the systems employed in importing, exporting & transporting products & services.
Duties & Responsibilities
Drawing up and managing a comprehensive shipping plan for the financial year.
Map and review the shipping plan in line with the financial sales plan.
Consolidate quarterly shipping plan to reduce shipping costs.
Monitor shipping budget on monthly expenses.
Manage & Monitor all aspects of methods of shipping with the ultimate goal of improving efficiency, thus generating higher profits for the company.
Responsible for managing Outbound Logistics which includes the Road freight, Seafreight & Airfreight export process of final products to the end customers/clients.
Initiate and manage Seafreight & Airfreight the import process of raw materials and/or products.
Manage & coordinate shipping process by obtaining relevant permits for both imports and exports.
Ensure full compliance with respect to shipments of Dangerous goods and/or explosive items.
Render logistics support to new requirements or potential orders such as shipping option details and any special requirements.
Propose shipping solutions for internal and external customers.
Managing the SLA with appointed Transport service provider, Clearing & Forwarding Agents, Shipping liners/Agents & ensure compliance of transporting dangerous goods.
Compile Service Level Agreements and Scope of Works for 3PL service providers.
Manage and establish best communication relations with Transport & Freight Forwarder service providers.
Will be appointed as the Responsible Person for all Logistics related matters with the SAPS-Chief
Education and Education
Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Shipping Logistics.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in Shipping, Logistics or Transportation of Explosives environment.
5-years proven experience in Shipping, Logistics, Transportation and managing outbound logistics through export.
5-years proven experience in Shipping, Logistics, Transportation and managing inbound logistics through imports.
Extensive understanding of handling dangerous goods and/or explosives.
Knowledge of all modes of transport regulations, compliance standards
Knowledge, understanding and transactional exposure on ERP systems.
Knowledge of SAP would be an added advantage.
Knowledge of processes, administration, procedures, quality, production, products, maintenance and safety requirements.
