At present, one of our key clients requires a General Manager for their operations in West Africa. The General Manager will be overseeing a large sugar plantation managing a large team of expatriates and locals, including operations in the factory as well.
The General Manager will ideally have previous experience in the Sugar industry as well as prior experience in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The key responsibilities of the General Manager:
Manage the Profit & Loss for the operation, reporting regularly to the senior management team in Europe with financial and production figures.
Work with the production teams to ensure that the operation remains productive and efficient.
Monitor maintenance needs keeping a tight budget on consumables and spares.
Work with the local community to meet all needs of the CSR
Required Skills
land development: 6 to 7 years
senior management: 7 to 8 years
harvesting: 6 to 7 years
sugarcane production: 10 years or more

What we look for in excellent candidates:

Must have experience of managing a sugar plantation
·
Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa is a must.
