Purpose

To prepare, analyse and report costing information in order to improve profitability within the organization. Work with management to make key decisions to enhance cost-effectiveness internally including determining the pricing of services.

Key responsibilities:

Design and build costing models
Plann, study and collect data to determine costs of business activity
Analyse data collected and record results
Determine fixed and variable costs
Record cost information
Control expenditures
Analyse audits of costs and prepare reports
Provide management with reports specifying factors that affect prices and profitability
Estimate the impact of changes in service offerings on pricing and profit margins
Maintain Cost Accounting System
Assist in month end close of the General Ledger
Prepare budget reports for each department and division
Analyse and report on profit margins
Design cost-effective solutions for internal clients

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
CIMA (or studying towards)
Must have proven experience in building Cost systems
Strong Database knowledge
Sound understanding of accounting principles
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Advanced Excel (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
Minimum of 4 solid years of Cost Accounting or Pricing experience
Strong Leadership and communications skills – ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
Must come from a professional Services / consulting background
