Key responsibilities include the following:

Monitoring and promoting animal well-being during animal use and all stages of the animal’s life.
Responsibility to provide the highest standards of care and ethics in animal use.
Collaborative relationships with researchers and members of the CAS team.
Provide surgical research support.
Attend and contribute, through the review of protocols, to the Animal Ethics committees.
Establish species-specific health plans as well as disease surveillance programs.
Training and educational responsibilities.
Perform self-initiated research.

Requirements
Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent
Registration with the SAVC
Proficiency in English
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently
Advantages

Experience in working with exotic species
Postgrad studies would be advantageous
