A Luxury Guest House in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is looking to employ an experienced Receptionist/FOH to join the team

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

One-year experience in the Hospitality Industry with relevant FOH and Reception Experience

Must be able to maintain good working relationships

Must be client driven at all times Must be able to work under pressure

Must be prepared to work during holidays and on weekends when required

Must have reliable transport and a valid driver’s licenceRESPONSIBILITIES

OF THE POSITION:
To manage guest bookings and ensure that all reservations are processed accuratelyReview of standards and procedures to deliver quality service

Coordination of special requests from guests for example arranging shuttle servicesProvide the daily dinners and any dietary requirements to the Kitchen Manager

Provide accurate feedback regarding menu options for any upcoming conferences and functions in order for adequate preparation time To increase turnover by giving maximum occupancy preference

To make suggestions on how to keep to the budget in terms of office needs

To ensure that all Online Travel Agent Administration Sites are periodically updated and kept current

To facilitate proper correspondences and required information and/or documentation. between the establishment and Corporate Clients, Travel Agents, respective bookers and enquirers alike

Offer constructive participation in the day-to-day running of Front-of-House

Undertake front of house duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests, to ensure an excellent customer service experience

To deal with guest requests to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay

To assist in dealing with customer complaints in an effective and courteous manner, providing or seeking solutions as quickly as possible

To be responsible for accurate and efficient accounts and guest billing processes

To assist in keeping the hotel reception area clean and tidy at all timesTo undertake general office duties, including correspondence, e-mails and filing to ensure the smooth running of the reception area

To administer all routes of reservations to ensure that bookings are made and recorded accurately

To ensure that all reservations and cancellations are processed efficiently

To keep up to date with prices and special offers to provide accurate information to guests

To report any maintenance, breakage or cleanliness problems to the relevant manager and/or department

To administer the general petty cash system in an accurate manner

To undertake any other ad-hoc duties (bar and restaurant work) relevant to the post as and when required

WORKING HOURS: Morning Shift: 06:00 to 14:00Mid-morning to Afternoon Shift:
11:00 to 19:00Evening Shift: 14:00 to 22:00
