We invite all suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the following vacancy:
Position Purpose
Inspect, check and register samples submitted to the laboratory so that work is completed within required turnaround times.
Key Accountabilities:
Capture sample requested tests into laboratory management system as per sample submission form
Correlate sample waybill with registration to verify accuracy and correcting registrations where needed
Having a working knowledge of correct routine codes and customer request/ requirements so as to determine accuracy of registrations
Sign all relevant documentation and forms in real-time
Register samples on DIMS when required to do so
Preparing supplement test reports when needed
Relief on switchboard duties
Scan waybills to the mainframe
File all registered sample waybills and archive all old sample waybills
Administration of samples reception documentation
Improve laboratory efficiency
Adherence to departmental turnaround times and notifying direct supervisor of any delay on turnaround times
Ensure good working relationships with internal and external clients
Cleaning of sample reception, workstation and equipment
Notification to management of calibration and service requests
Perform all tasks in accordance OHS and quality assurance policies and procedures
Implementation of quality TAT corrective actions for area of responsibility
Ensure correct stock levels are maintained effectively for testing
Receipt and inspection of consumables
Responsible for the upkeep of laboratory instruments, cleaning and disinfecting

Qualifications:
Grade 12
Administrative qualification will be an advantage
Knowledge / Experience:
2-3 year’s sample registration or data capturing experience in a laboratory environment
Additional Requirements:
Willing to work shifts, weekends and overtime when needed.
High attention to detail
