A well-established audit and financial management firm is seeking to permanently employ an Audit Senior or Audit Supervisor to their team in Pretoria (Irene), Tshwane. The firm is looking for a self-confident individual who likes to work as part of a team, but is also willing to take initiative and capable of working independently. The appointee will be responsible for the performing and management of various functions within the business, including but not limited to audit, accounting, consulting, tax planning, financial management, servicing a range of small, medium and large-sized organizations. The Audit Manager/Senior will report directly to the Director.
Duties and Skills
Auditing, independent review and compilation of financial statements according to IFRS for SMEs.
Candidate to have strong technical skills.
Review and preparation of working paper files prior to submitting to a partner.
Preparation of all reports, statements and letters depending on engagement type.
Report writing.
Compliance with firm’s audit methodology.
Ad hoc – Responding and dealing with client queries, work in progress, and general planning.
Responsible to ensure audit quality and risk management in the review process.
Leading the team at the client in the absence of the director.
Project management of multiple audits simultaneously.
Managing the budget and planning of the assurance practise.
Working with directors, senior managers, and other peers.
Issuing and reviewing of all assurance related billings.
Any other accounting, drafting, reconciling, reviewing and auditing work as required.
Ensuring that you meet the minimum billings hours as per the company standards.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Requirements:
CA(SA) or similar.
BCompt Accounting degree or similar.
Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles.
CaseWare knowledge and experience is essential. Probe is preferential.
At least a basic knowledge of accounting software (preferably Pastel Partner/Xpress).
Computer literate – MS Excel and MS Word literacy required at advanced level.
Excellent communication skills – written and spoken essential (Afrikaans and English).
Ability to market and sell company services.

Analytical and solution-driven.
Pro-active and committed to delivery.
Excellent financial, tax and corporate legislation knowledge & experience.
Audit management & team planning experience.
Must demonstrate personal and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met.
High Technical ability (IFRS, Companies Act, International Standards of Auditing, Tax).
Good knowledge of external audit methodology.
Travelling to clients will be required.
Overtime will be required from time to time to meet client deadlines.
Salary Band – R20k to R40k per month, negotiable depending on experience.
