Company Profile Snackworks is responsible for the biscuit and snacking portfolio under AVI. An opportunity has become available for a hands-on Millwright at our Isando Biscuits Factory. Suitably qualified and trade tested individuals with at least 3 years’ experience dealing with plant and equipment maintenance and repairs are invited to apply for the role.

Duties and Responsibilities

Carry out maintenance, repair, and fault-finding tasks to ensure machine availability for production to reach targets
Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment on machinery
Perform electrical and mechanical planned maintenance
Installation and repair of all machinery
Set timing, cams and limits on equipment as per manufacturers’ specifications
Investigate root causes of plant failures
Support with project implementation
Communicate downtime data to the Engineering Foreman and ensure downtime targets are met

Work with VFFS packaging machinery, food processing equipment, conveyors, Multi-head weighers, Bosch Flow and roll wrap machines, CAMA Case packing, Cermex, Cam, Klik-Klock, robotic palletizers, and general factory equipment Competencies Work with others

Optimize business performance (Continuous improvement) Experience Required At least 3 years’ post-trade test experience gained, preferably in an FMCG environment
Experience of packaging machinery will be advantageous

Minimum Qualifications Required

Matric / Grade 12
Trade tested as a Millwright at an accredited training facility
Completed Mechanical / Electrical Engineering qualification or minimum N4 qualification Knowledge Required Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
Pneumatic and Electro-Pneumatic systems
PLC programming and VSD set-up knowledge is advantageous
