Our client is an Insurance company looking for a Junior Accountant based in Randburg with a young innovative team dedicated to service delivery with a nationwide presence.

The ideal candidate will be required to provide financial information to management by preparing, analyzing accounting and reporting accounting data. Knowledge of working with Accounting packages will be critical.

Education

Matric
Bcom Accounting or BCompt Accounting and/or Completed ACCA or CIMA qualification.
Experience

2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role

Duties:

Preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Documenting financial transactions by entering account information.
Recommending financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
Summarising current financial status by collecting information; preparing a balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow statement and other reports.
Substantiating financial transactions by auditing documents.
Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Securing financial information by completing database backups.
Maintaining financial security by following internal controls.
Preparing payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
Answering accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
Preparing special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends at both the business unit level and group level
Maintaining customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
