GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is the media division of a global marketing and communications group. They are currently looking for a Financial Controller based in Johannesburg, responsible for the company’s financial reporting and undertake all aspects of financial management. This includes corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. Financial controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

.Manage all accounting operations

.Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition

.Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances

.Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements

.Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting

.Research technical accounting issues for compliance

.Support month-end and year-end close process

Requirements:

.Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar

.proven experience in finance management

.sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals

.good communication skills

.strong leadership qualities
