JOB SUMMARY
The Cost Controller is responsible for the procurement including purchasing, receiving and inventory management activities of the property. This position will perform month-end activities which include recording journal entries in the financial systems.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Experience in the Hospitality industry, procurement department is recommended
Organizational and administrative skills are essentials
Working knowledge of procurement systems will be advantageous
Knowledge of Microsoft packages
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing Work, Projects, and Policies
Performing of daily receiving of goods on properties
Responsible for Receiving and inventory management on the procurement/inventory system
Manage beverage stock and internal requisition management process
Processing of month-end stock counts
Identify, document and investigate monthly inventory count variances
Perform stock counts and inventory adjustments
Process month-end journal vouchers for F&B closing on Quick Base
Responsible for online invoice entry for all non-procurement system invoices
Review and follow up of open purchase orders in procurement system
Complies with Local laws applying to fraud and collection procedures.
Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Compiles, codes, categorizes, calculates, tabulates, audits, or verifies information or data.
Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals
Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
Submits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.
Completes period end function each period.
General Accounting and Cost Control Functions
Perform physical inventories for the food and beverage and retail areas as required.
Perform routine analysis on product mix/margin and guest preference information to help the operations staff
understand the impact of their merchandising efforts on revenue.
Assist with inputting prices, menu changes and user changes in the point of sale (POS) system.
Input receipt of all food, beverage, and non-food products into the inventory and into the recipe part of the purchasing system.
Investigate all measurement unit issues and noticeable price variances as required.
Update all inventory requisitions through the inventory and purchasing system.
Assist in the calculation of the potential cost of sale ratios.
Maintain master cost files and recipes.
Perform random checks to verify all products are stored appropriately and secured.
