SOUS CHEF GAME LODGE NORTH WEST PROVINCE
This super game lodge in NW Province is looking for a great sous chef to join the lodge team in January 2020.
Responsible for planning and directing food preparation in a kitchen. This will involve a large degree of supervising other kitchen staff. You will be required to stand in for the Head Chef in their absence and ensure that the kitchen is run in the same professional manner when the Head Chef is not on duty
Main areas of responsibility
Assist with menu planning, stock control & management, placing food orders, staff supervision & training, Food quality and presentation management Food cost-aware & management, assist with kitchen budget preparation, general kitchen management & administration work, Hygiene & safety management of the kitchen brigade
Minimum requirements:
Matric/ NQF Level 4 Good level of numeracy and mathematical ability good at admin as well as food preparationPassion about the culinary arts and preparing great food for your guests Excellent communication skills when dealing with staff and guests Formal chef qualification (advantageous) 3-5 years experience in a similar role Excellent knowledge of food preparation 5* Lodge experience (preferable) and prepared to work and live in a remote bush environment Good market related starting salary with live-in accommodation, meals, uniform etc.
