Game Reserve Ecologist.

Large Big 5 Game Reserve, Limpopo

Possess the relevant qualifications and field experience and be able to do animal surveys and research, including biodiversity assessments. The candidate should also have experience in preparing ecology progress reports.

Sound knowledge of issues associated with the conservation of wildlife and ecosystems in South Africa.
Competence in the biological survey, monitoring, and research skills.
Well-developed knowledge of experimental design and sampling methods
Proficiency in wildlife surveys.
Game capture and animal husbandry experience essential.
Competence in collecting and managing data.
Demonstrated capacity to work as part of a team as well as mentoring small, results-driven teams.
Good communication (both with superiors and subordinates) and writing skills including the ability to draft edit and complete reports in a timely manner.
Competence in a range of computer software packages including word processing, spreadsheets, GIS, with experience in field technology such as radio telemetry (essential), camera trap networks, and satellite tracking systems highly advantageous.
Eagerness to learn new skills and an interest in sharing my own knowledge with team members.
