Purpose of the Job

To protect the Refinery’s resources and assets from the adverse consequences of emergency incidents through the provision of sound fire protection systems and prompt emergency response capabilities.

Who You Are:
You are a disciplined team player.
You have built a portfolio of achievements within Emergency Services including the Petrochemical Industry.
You are an expert at fire and emergency services response.
You are passionate about serving and protecting people and the environment.
You have excellent communication skills
You have a reputation for being able to work under pressure.

What you’ll have done before:

Baseline:

At least 3 years of fire and emergency related experience with two of these linked to a recognized Fire Department.
NFPA 1001 Firefighter 2.
Exceptional Level of Physical Fitness. (Subject to medical and physical fitness evaluation).
Deep knowledge of Fire and Rescue Techniques.
Experience working with Petrochemical Fire Fighting Teams.
Valid BAA certificate or Valid Level 3 First Aid certificate.
Valid Code C Drivers (subject to driver evaluation)

Advantageous:

Post-graduate qualification in Fire Technology
Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment and navigate ambiguity
Demonstrated ability to work in the Petrochemical Industry.
SAPIA Advanced Petrochemical Firefighting skill or desire to acquire the same.

What you’ll be doing:

Proactively supporting the Fire Department’s Policies, Plans, and procedures.
Building a safe fire prevention culture.
Measuring the abilities and effectiveness of the emergency response.
Creating a safe and effective response to emergencies.
Maximizing the potential to prevent and or respond to emergencies.
You’ll create an HSEQ partnership with all stakeholders.
You’ll leverage Policies, Procedures and best Practices.
