Our client, an international logistics and freight forwarding company with a commitment to growth and excellence, is now looking for a Seafreight Customs Entry Clerk to join their growing team of accountants, clerk, and imports.

With a passion for operations and imports, you will be contributing to personalized and cost-effective services.

Responsibilities:
Ensure that proper clearance documents are attached to every file before framing the entry

Capture all export and import entries for sea/air/road and rail shipments.

Ensure that all files are captured and that they are captured correctly on the system

Verify with your supervisor or manager that correct tariff codes are being used at all times.

Submit all framed entries to be quality checked and signed off by your manager.

Prioritize ETA in terms of bulk high tonnage and airfreight cargo.

Follow the guidelines laid down in the Act when framing the SAD500 with regards to the terms of valuation (incoterm) and purpose codes.

Exercise proper clearance procedures when framing each client entry as per their specific requirements.

Keeps a record of errors emerging from operations in order to take corrective action and promote efficiency.

Do minor VOC adjustments.

Attend to all custom queries that are within your expertise, matters outside of this have to be escalated to your manager.

Arrange for customs exams with the warehousing staff.

Provide your manager with a summary of all unresolved queries at the end of each day.

Provide operations department with adequate information to address customer’s customs related queries.

Highlight all identified risks that may expose Swiftair to customs penalties

Always pay attention to the detail and check your work at all times.

Take instructions from and execute instructions given to you by your manager.
