Our Client in the Manufacturing Industry has a vacancy for a Financial Assistant reporting to the Financial Manager and Accountants. This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Job Purpose: Assisting the finance team in managing, processing troubleshooting various accounts and transactions
Minimum Requirements;
Matric;
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university supported by knowledge in bookkeeping, accounting and finance;
Good math and computer skills to be able to make the calculations with good speed and accuracy;
Integrity, solid communication skills, both written and verbal, familiarity with business principles and practices, attention to detail, organisational skills, planning skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, critical thinking skills;
Good administrative and clerical skills, and should be able to follow instructions as given;
Good team player and should be able to work on deadline driven situations;
Superior proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential as you will need to handle huge data related to finance;
Able to prioritize and organize your work to ensure that it is completely within the given time limit;
In depth knowledge of book keeping and accounting procedures is a must along with high degree of concentration and an ability to identify accounting discrepancies
Duties:
Managing petty cash transactions;
Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets;
Preparing account analysis and spreadsheets;
Participating in stock take;
Preparing journal entries for review;
Filing, data entry;
Processing and reconciling expense claims;
Processing and filing Credit Notes
Requisitions for admin related orders, before sent to procurement for Purchase Orders;
Credit Card/Travel card processing;
Preparing AP and AR recons. GRN matching to Supplier Invoice and Purchase order;
General Ledger journal provisions;
General Ledger recons;
Attend finance department and company-wide meetings, sometimes assisting with financial reporting to managers;
Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions;
To maintain, update, and retrieve the financial information from the financial system;
Monitoring the flow of transactions, ensuring their proper entry, verifying the accuracy of financial records, assisting in report generation;
Apply the basic accounting principles, knowledge, and techniques to analyse variances;
Handle high volumes of financial data and information, and should be well acquainted with ways of storing and retrieving it whenever there is any need;
Ensure that expenditures that have been incurred are posted to appropriate accounts;
Minutes of meetings.
Salary: R12 – R14k (negotiable based on experience)
