Scope & General Purpose of the Job

To carry out all round Maintenance.

Line of Reporting and Communication
Responsible to: Maintenance Supervisor
Responsible for: All general Plumbing and general maintenance
In communication with: Project Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Area Manager

Key Performance Areas:

Unblocking of drains
Installing of plumbing pipes
Repair and replace damaged plumbing equipment’s
General Hostel maintenance work (e.g. Carpentry), painting, basic electrical, tiling)

Numeracy Skills, able to perform and interpret job-related calculations accurately
Interpersonal Skills, able to develop effective interpersonal relationships with Internal and External Stakeholders
Communication Skills, able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing
Problem-solving skills, able to access and solve problems effectively
Attention to detail
Detail orientated
Physical arm strength

Additional Skills Requirements:

Mathematical skills
Plumbing qualification (N3) An Advantage
Experience in Hostel Maintenance

Education / Qualification and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education / Qualification: Grade 12 / or equivalent

Minimum level/years of Experience: 2 / 3 Years’ experience in a similar role

Disqualifiers:
No trade experience or qualification
