(This is a contract position renewable based on funding) Purpose of the position The driver / data capturer will work closely with project / programme staff in the district within a community and/or facility setting, assist with transportation of teams for client and household contact tracing in communities. In addition to driving, the successful candidate will offer general administration duties, data capturing, assist with event logistics, vehicle maintenance, observing all road safety and traffic laws

Minimum Requirements:
• Matric/grade 12 • 2 years driving experience • 2 years’ experience in data collection, capturing, updating and/or maintaining electronic databases • Experience working with Department of Health information systems such as DHIS and/or Tier.Net will be advantageous • Computer literate and the use of Microsoft office package (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) • Fluency in English and isiZulu languages • Basic knowledge on geographical areas in eThekwini • Valid Code: 10 driver’s license driver’s licence with Professional Driving Permit (PDP) • Experience working in a donor-funded environment

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain good relationships by ensuring that teams and vehicles are safe during community outreach activities (adhere to all road safety and traffic laws) • Conduct daily vehicle inspections, roadworthy inspections and maintains the vehicle and escalate problems to management • Maintain daily transportation log and ensure petrol slips are submitted timeously • Complies with organizational policies regarding vehicles • Ensure that emergency numbers are listed in the vehicles • Perform data collection and data capturing activities • Assist with event logistics and delivery of commodities to facilities within the district • Monitoring and evaluation – Collect and verify data against source documents to ensure data quality • Filing and administrative duties as required • Reporting – Ensure that basic reports (weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports are submitted on time)
