The Role:

Goods Receiving
Binning
Picking
Despatch
Counter Assistance – Cash Sales
Stock Counts
Surplus returns/Scrapping
Housekeeping
Safety
Fork Lift Handling

The receiving of goods from the various suppliers i.e. offloading of containers and the opening and unpacking of parcels received, credit returns to be checked for damages, accuracy of part no’s and qty’s, relevant documentation to be completed (GRN’s)
Verifying the items received against the relevant documents to be correct in quantity and part number
Check items received and the general condition of the packaging to be free from any defects. Report any such defect to the Logistics Manager.
Identifying the correct store location of the individual items in SAP or location list and the storing thereof accurately in the correct location
Ensure that new location are updated in SAP
The picking of items as per the pick slips. Report any deviation found to the Stores Supervisor
Ensure the goods are packed in such a way to protect the goods up to the point of delivery
Delivery note to be checked for accuracy, part no., description and quantity
Assist customers at the counter with collections promptly and ensure that the relevant documents are completed as and when required
Assist customers buying cash and follow the procedure for cash sales, cash sales must be processed through SAP
Assist in counting stock as and when required
Assist with surplus returns, check picking accuracy, part no’s and qty’s
Assist with scrapping, physically remove parts from bins
Assist in cleaning the warehouse, the areas used for the storage of goods and areas directly outside the warehouse
Assist in maintaining all safety aspects in the warehouse and report any unsafe situation or equipment to the Stores Supervisor
Assist in the day to day running of the warehouse as determined by the Stores Supervisor
Operate forklift as and when required
Accuracy in all aspects of duties performed in the warehouse such as goods receipted, goods binning, picking, packing and despatched
Accurate stock counting and recording as per stock take procedure
Customer service excellence is essential

What we expect of you?

A good knowledge and understanding of Atlas Copco products
Computer literacy, in particular the relevant module of the SAP system
Interpersonal skills to work as part of the warehouse team
Good communication skills to assist customers at the collection/sales counter
Understanding of flow of goods through the warehouse from goods receiving to picking

Educational Qualification

Grade 12

Other Abilities/Skills:

Warehouse experience essential
Computer Literacy
SAP knowledge is an asset
Forklift License
Valid driver’s license Code 08
Code 10 is an asset
