Our company is growing rapidly and is looking to fill the role of forklift Operator.

Scope:

A forklift driver is responsible for delivering, moving, loading, and unloading a variety of goods in warehouses and on construction sites.

Responsibilities:

· Operating the forklift both indoors and outdoors

· Assisting with shipping/receiving process, including loading, and unloading product.

· Ensuring that warehouse grounds are kept clean and orderly.

· Loading – inspection of empty trailers prior to loading to ensure no contamination.

· Inventory – Perform inventory counts to ensure inventory control and security are maintained.

· Quality – Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.

· Equipment – Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials and equipment using a forklift.

· Ensure accurate counts are recorded prior to any movements into or out of inventory.

· Maintains yard cleanliness by performing general housekeeping.

· Mentor other forklift operators

· Ensure material on pallets is stable, neat, and evenly distributed to ensure safe transportation of stock.

· Check the conditions of the machine and report any damage or irregularities.

· Accurately report on the condition of the machine and any maintenance or repairs that may be required to the manager.

· Ensure that the warehouse and rack storage areas are utilized correctly.

· Ensure that pallets are packed at designated areas with the correct safety precautions.

Required qualifications / Skills:

· Matric

· Ability to work with an automated inventory control program.

· Have 2 years previous verifiable experience operating a forklift.

· Have flexibility to complete overtime if necessary.

· Comfortable working in a warehouse environment. (Dusty)

· Valid forklift operator’s license.

Salary offered:

· Market Related

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: R5,000.00 – R8,000.00 per month

Education:

High School (matric) (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Forklift operator license (Required)
