Warehouse Assistant needed urgently: APPLY HERE

The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for ensuring control on the flow of stock through the warehouse / storage areas, monitoring goods in and out, safely and efficiently moving and handling items and keeping stock records. Other responsibilities will include accountability to management (ordering, storage and issuing) of office consumables (tea, coffee, etc.) and will be responsible for the resolve of day-to-day maintenance and furniture re-allocation, based on business needs.
Warehouse Assistant Job Duties:
- Loading and unloading of goods from delivery vehicles
- Checking and inspecting goods received and ensuring they are of accurate quantity, type, and acceptable quality.
- Recording and reporting of any damaged, missing or faulty goods.
- Ensure that stock room layout planogram is developed to ensure that ordering is according to stock room capacity and ensure correct par levels are maintained reducing write-offs and risk.
- Signing of the delivery note, once satisfied that all goods are received fully.
- Moving the goods to the correct area in the warehouse for receiving.
- Labelling of goods and put-away / Allocation of goods to correct locations.
- Making sure that all inventory and system processes are completed on the same day.
- Moving and packing of goods to despatch area ensuring they are ready for collection.

- Packaging and labelling products before they are dispatched.
- Allocating of storage space for goods
- Relocating and re-stacking goods to make space for new deliveries.
- Keeping records of items, their location and quantity
- Conducting stock takes and stock management.
- Reporting on stock levels and stock takes
- Ensure compliance with security procedures and health & safety.
- Maintaining the warehouse and storage areas in a tidy state and clearing away packing material
- Perform ADHOC duties as per business / operational requirements.
- Storage and supply of office consumables – applicable for the various locations and based on approval.
- Conduct a weekly evaluation of office maintenance requirements.
- Perform maintenance activities in-line with business requirements i.e.
- Changing of light bulbs
- Re-filling of diesel in the generator
- Fixing of office furniture
- Installation and removal of office furniture, as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- General 2 years working experience
Systems:
- Computer literacy in MS Excel as well as MS Office
- SAP (advantageous)
Physical Abilities:
- Must have the ability to pick up and move stock items and equipment, with assistance if required – aligned with H&S Regulations
- Must have the ability to travel and to transport equipment as and when required.
Skills:
- Verbal and written communication.
- Administration and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of operational systems & processes experience will be advantageous.
