DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain and test all equipment/machinery to ensure functionality, safety, machine availability and to complete jobs within the specified timeframe and budgetary limits.

Ensure that the work environment is equipped with the necessary spare parts and defective components are identified in order to find and implement permanent solutions.

Daily inspection and maintenance of equipment

·Timely response to repair and maintenance of all site machines as per daily schedule

Servicing and diagnosis of all machines

Will be required to respond to all kinds of breakdowns at any time of the day as they arise

Ensure workshop quality, safety and security procedures are adhered to at all times

Report any vehicle faults other than those on the job card

May be required to fuel machines

May be required to attend other breakdowns within the organization

·Supervisory responsibilities inclusive of allocation of work to the Production Team

·Manage work output in line with production targets

· Provide Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports to management

· Drive a Safety Culture on Site and report deviations

· Monitor discipline amongst the team inspire high performance culture

· Be the client liaison office on Site

· Manage open communication with all stakeholders

Requirements

· 7-10 years post Apprenticeship/Qualification experience as a Mechanic in a mining environment

· Experience with maintenance and repair of earth moving mobile equipment (trucks, Excavators, front end loaders, TLBs, LDVs). Must have worked with Powerstar, Sinotruk, CAT, Bell and FAW vehicles

· Trade certificate in diesel engines field

· Dual Qualification in Diesel and Electrical advantageous

· Must be prepared to work overtime and standby duties

· Good communication and report writing skills

· Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and for long hours

· Code 8/10 driver’s license, code 14 is an added advantage

· Must be a good team Leader with Supervisory experience.
