We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for Electronics Technician position under the Services Department. The position will report to Electronics Team Leader and is based in Randjespark, Midrand (Gauteng).
Job Purpose
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tests on electronic equipment in repair process
- Analyse and make diagnosis of return causes of repair equipment and cross-check with test results to detect failures and perform corrective actions
- Perform finishing of products and self-inspection before release
- Ensure traceability of activities: repair report, serialization of components
- Respect industrial processes in alignment with QCD targets
- During the ramp up period, take active part in any job required in the electronic workshop as well as in the supplier repair workshop.
- Also, to start the first repairs, participate in the workshops and workstations set up
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- Electronic/electrotechnical National Diploma or Higher certificate
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing and Test (Electrical) Engineering with experience in electronic factory
- Familiarity with the Passenger Information System (PACIS) system equipment’s and all relative industrial and manufacturing processes (Assembly and Testing)
- Certification IPC 7711/7721 or IPC A 610
- Familiar with the use of MMIS (SAP) and updating of failure reports
- Good knowledge of the electronic field
- Knows rules and processes on electronic boards:
- Mounting/unmounting components (CMS, go-through)
- Brazing/welding processes
- Varnishing/unvarnishing processes
- Hi-pot
- Burn-in test
- Able to understand electrical/electronics schematics
- Able to detect and isolate failures coming from process, product, test equipment
- Knows rules and procedures linked to ESD and EHS rules : self-inspection, habilitation, quality
- Able to perform 1st level maintenance of test equipment
- Knowledge of electric/electronic safety rules
Special Requirements
The job involves some mobility to the client depots for technical support and investigations sometimes.
