Automation Engineer required immediately: APPLY NOW

Requirements:

Degree or Diploma in electrical engineering (LC) from a recognised Institution.
Ten years” experience in control and automation of water treatment process plants and equipment.
Proficient with Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider and Allen Bradley programming systems.
Knowledge of commercial terms and conditions.
Excellent organisational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Valid passport for cross-border travel.
Driving License and own vehicle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To provide all the aspects of the automation engineering for project execution

Project Engineering

Assist with preparation of P&ID”s with regard to process automation.
Assist with plant layout design with regard to process automation.
Assist with selection of process instrumentation.
Detailed design of full automation system including but not limited to:
a. Design and preparation of control architecture.
b. Preparation of loop diagrams, data sheets, hook-up diagrams etc.
c. Preparation of process instrument schedules
d. Preparation of instrument schedules
e) Control, check and approve PLC, remote 10 and control panel designs.
f) Preparation of RFQ to subcontractors for design and manufacture of control panels.
Liaise with Electrical engineer regarding control interfacing etc.
g) Ensure that all control and automation aspects are within the company or client specification.
h) Ensure that all control aspects are compliant with the respective Standards authorities where the plant is located.
i) Prepare control narrative to be used for automation configuration.
j) Design, engineer and test (FAT) in-house PLC, HMI and SCADA software systems for plants, or supervise and monitor sub-contractor design, engineering and testing (FAT) of outsourced PLC, HMI and SCADA software systems for plants
k) Prepare documentation and manuals for Factory Acceptance Tests, installation, operating & maintenance, etc.

Works:

a) Attend site visits for management and inspection of subcontractor progress, quality etc., as required.
b) Manage the company and/or subcontractor site documents, inspection/test reports, compliance certificates, client hand over, etc.
c) Manage preparation and inspection of equipment plant for shipping.
d) On-site supervision of installation, when required.
e) On-site commissioning and client training.

Assist Tendering team with all tendering requirements.

General

a) Perform any other reasonable duties required by your designated departmental manager.

Quality Health & Safety

Ensure health and safety legislation and contractual obligations pertaining to health & safety are adhered to throughout the project
Perform all duties to the latest ISO 9001 Requirements.
Ensure all necessary external documentation is checked and signed.
Continuously liaise with the client on all technical or contractual aspects of the project
Interact with partners or suppliers
Function as part of a Team.
Ensure total confidentiality of all information, internal and external, pertaining to the business, all its Employees and Management.
Communicate with clients in a professional manner.
