A large wholesaler of FMCG goods situated in Airport Industria – Cape Town, is looking to appoint a Blockman for our Butcher. The position will report directly to the Butcher Manager and is available immediately. Wages to be discussed at interview.

Duties:

Cutting and portioning of meat as per order requested
Ensuring that portioning is in line with customer specifications
Operating the band saw, mincer and vacuum machine
Ensuring meat is correctly weighed and packaged accordingly
Ensure stock rotation when selecting products from the Freezer/Chiller
Ensure work station is always clean and tidy
Maintain measures to reduce wastage of products during cutting

Requirements:

Minimum grade 10 required for position
At least 1-2 years blockman experience
Knowledge on types of meat and cuts
Honest, reliable and hardworking.
No criminal record. This will be checked.
Strong personality and must be able to perform under pressure.
Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills

Part-time hours: 45 per week
