PURPOSE OF ROLE

The purpose of a Driver II is to operate a forklift machine while using a plank to lift vehicles and then move the vehicles within the SMD yard, ensuring that vehicles are moved safely and no damages are caused when moving vehicles.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Complete a Forklift checklist when moving a vehicle 
Ensure that all driveable vehicles are driven to the bay allocation 
Ensure that all accident damaged vehicles are moved with the forklift using a plank to the bay allocation 
Loading and off-loading of vehicles from tow trucks 
Shift sheets are completed 
Packing of vehicles in the yard 
Complete releases checklist on all Repairs / Withdrawn / Reps / Sales and (SAPS Clearance) 
Take all exit photos of vehicles 
Ensure that all vehicles are locked and windows are closed / wrapped in plastic where necessary and that all loose parts are secured neatly inside the vehicle, and the batteries terminals were removed, before moving to yard 
Assist clients or assessors with viewing or queries that they might have 
Assist admin with parts to be removed and ensure new 360 is completed if necessary 
Ensure that the Bond Yard, 360 yard and Assessment Centre is clean and tidy at all times all broken parts removed 
Packing vehicles ready for sales 
General yard work 
Assist where required and requested to do so by management (This includes all reasonable request was made by management)

Required Skills

computer literate: 2 to 3 years
forklift operation: 2 to 3 years
forklift license: 2 to 3 years

Candidate Requirements:
Matric 
At least 2-3 years’ experience operating a forklift machine 
Forklift License
