Purpose of the position

The enrolled nurse will facilitate linkage to care; adherence counselling and support; pharmacovigilance; contact screening; retention in care and accessing new treatment regimens.

Education and experience:

Grade 12
Diploma or relevant nursing qualification
Registration with the SANC as an Enrolled Nurse
At least 2 years’ experience in a HAST programme
Proficiency in Microsoft office
Ability to communicate in English and isiZulu
Valid driver’s licence
Clear criminal record

Main job tasks, duties and responsibilities:

Support active TB case finding
Linkage to care and adherence support
Support identification of TB and HIV coinfection
Employ appropriate messaging to trigger demand-driven TB case finding and provision of treatment of Latent TB Infection (LTBI)
Support pharmacovigilance activities
Assist with accurate completion of clinical documents and verify completion of registers
Adhere to infection prevention control standards

Knowledge, skills and competencies:

Awareness of PACK and HAST related policies
Good communication, interpersonal, conflict management and negotiation skills
Team leader and team player
Very good reasoning ability
Previous exposure within an NGO/NPO environment
Knowledge of TB case management
Supervisory experience
