Description

The Muslim Hands South Africa Office is based in Cape Town. The Events & Volunteers Coordinators will be
responsible for coordinating all efforts related to upcoming events and the
volunteers involved. The successful candidates will provide complete
administration support in relation to these vital functions of the
organisation.

As the Events & volunteer Coordinator, you will

be responsible for:
Main

Responsibilities:
Volunteer
Coordination

·
Provide
administrative support with the recruitment of MH Volunteers (MHV’s)

·
Research
and draft volunteer policies and procedures.

·
Generate
appropriate volunteering opportunities and create role descriptions based on
the diversifying needs of the organisation.

·
Monitor,
support, and motivate volunteers and their work. This includes managing all
social media communication with volunteers.

·
Maintain
and update volunteer databases. This includes managing the volunteers list,
inducting all new volunteers and cataloging MHV’s capabilities, interests and
availability.

·
Recruit
volunteers and provide appropriate training to ensure they are suitable for the
role.

Events Coordination

·
To
directly coordinate Muslim Hands South Africa events nationally with a view to
secure MHV’s and raise funds accordingly.

·
Publicize
Events, Keeping up to date with culture trends; monitoring the effectiveness of
advertising campaigns and ensuring appropriate marketing ‘placement’.

·
To
liaise with MHV’s and the scheme; continually seeking to raise its profile and
secure fund-raising opportunities.

·
To
nurture existing (and cultivating new) partnerships with relevant and desirable
institutions.

·
To
encourage and support volunteers to run their own fundraising event activities
within their specific areas.

·
To
maintain regular contact with MHV’s around the country, setting mini-challenges
during ‘off-peak’ periods so that they remain engaged and active within their
specific areas.

To
support in the attainment of an effectively visible MH presence at key events,
both at grass roots and regional level, mobilising localised volunteer networks
and Fundraising Team(s) as required.

Excellent
written and spoken English

Ability

positive and flexible outlook

South
African driving license
