Purpose of the Job:

The primary responsibility of the Finance Director is to ensure organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the Organizations’ financial functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Schedule and Plan Deadlines streamlined to Shareholder requirements (with Debtors Manager, Accountants and Accounts Payable)
Prepare, examine and analyse Accounting Records, Financial Statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
Analyse Business Operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations and compile budgets
Analyse Budget Variances and prepare periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs as well as investigate variances and report to Management
Investigate and Report on issues such as Resource Utilisation and the monthly accuracy on assumptions underlying Budget Forecast
Action Internal Audits across all divisions
Analyse Asset Register transactions and reconcile monthly
Monthly Payroll analysis and investigations
Firm understanding of the calculations within Payroll
Identify Trends and highlight variances, providing accurate management information to the Financial Director
High-level reporting to Financial Director and Group
Understand and complete all Statutory Commitments of the Company
Make the rules and establish precedents enabling lower bands to produce

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Matric Certified
CIMA/CA/H. Dip or equivalent Tertiary Qualification
8 10 years of direct Financial Management/Accounting experience (Senior Management)
Drivers License Code 08 and own reliable vehicle
Solid Computer Proficiency (Microsoft Office / PowerPoint / Excel Advanced)
Previous Accounting Software Package experience (E.g. SAP B1 will be advantageous)
Extensive knowledge of financial policies, procedures and processes

Aptitude for accurately working with numbers and formulas
Proven track record with high level Problem Solving
High commercial acumen and a record of confidence dealing with middle managers through to decision makers

Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work so as to meet Deadlines
Demonstrated commitment to high ethical standards within a diverse workplace
Strong commitment to service and quality standards as well as Client Satisfaction
Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects
Excellent People Management Skills
Logical thinker who is extremely well organized
A proactive self-starter who can operate both individually and as part of a team
