Role Overview

The role of Financial Controller is based in Johannesburg which is the regional head office of JCDecaux Sub Saharan Africa. Regional head office is the business support center for the 15 Sub Saharan countries. This role will oversee and be responsible for providing support services in respect of all aspects of finance, accounting and control for a selected portfolio of subsidiaries within the region. We are looking for a colleague who wants to join a dynamic team of finance professionals and contribute to the overall standards. The preferred candidate should be passionate in what he/she is doing and able to prioritize and manage a mix of deliverables according to deadlines, must be technically sound with ambition to proactively take up new challenges

Qualifications & Experience

Candidate should have a Bachelor”s degree in finance or accounting
Qualified CA (SA) is compulsory
Must be computer literate with Excel skills on an Advanced level and able to model data for ease of analysis and interpretation
Experience with working (input and output) with ERP/accounting systems (i.e. SAP) and consolidation reporting applications (i.e. HFM)
Must have at least 2-3 years in a Finance Controller (or similar) role with proven experience in finance management, accounting, statutory/consolidation reporting and ready to take next step in further career growth
And/or a minimum of 4 years of experience with an audit firm
Technically a sound professional in Finances and Control
Experience in dealing with African countries/foreign currencies would be an advantage
First contact of support for subsidiaries on all aspects of Finances & Control
Preparation of periodic (weekly, monthly and quarterly) financial reports (i.e month-end, cash forecasts)
Managing full financial accounting function and pro-actively participate in periodic reporting both for statutory purposes as well for consolidation purposes
Analyzing and interpretation of financial data and translating this in easy language to stakeholders
Monitoring internal controls
Participation in budgeting/forecast processes
Managing financial transactions
Streamlining accounting functions and operations
Coordinating and driving audit processes
Assist with year-end e.g. assisting with drafting of financial statements.
Full tax compliance e.g. timeous payment of taxes and other statutory returns, etc.
