Overview of Role
Fund Accountant for a Private Equity and/or Mezzanine Fund with the main responsibility to provide complete and accurate end to end reporting for the entities in the applicable Fund structure.
This is a support role which requires regular interaction with the Manager: Fund Accounting & Administration in order to ensure reporting is done timeously and is of the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
For any Fund:
Manages multi-currency (ZAR and USD) transactions and related entries.
Responsibility for the full accounting function for Fund partnerships, companies and Trusts over different year ends such as:
Preparation of quarterly trial balances, trial balance reconciliations, and management accounts in line with the Funds’ quarterly reporting process.
Preparation of annual financial statements in Investran (Excel) or Caseware.
Interacting with external auditors as part of the financial year-end process.
Responsibility for all tax compliance related to the Trusts and companies such as:
Provisional and final tax letter workings for the beneficiaries of the Trusts.
Preparation and submission of provisional tax returns and annual income tax returns.
Maintains confidentiality of documents and information received.
Keeps informed of and advise the manager of problems.
Performs related work as assigned.
Information Technology:
Strong, proven skills in all Mircrosoft packages, with heavy reliance on Excel, Outlook and Word to a lesser extent.
Experience in Investran accounting package an advantage and in Caseware to a lesser extent.
General

Qualifications And Experience Required
Minimum B Com (major in Accounting), candidates with B Com Hons and CA(SA) will also be considered.
Significant experience in financial services or banking environment, in financial accounting or similar position. If a CA(SA), candidates with Auditing articles are preferred.
