Minimum requirements for the role:
Previous experience having worked in a GM / Operations Management role having run a Ferrochrome Smelting Operation is essential.
Previous experience in leading a team and be hands-on involved in the running of various processes.
Must have done Plant Commissioning and Readiness Assessments.
The successful candidate must have a strong technical background who understands the Safety, Health and Environmental challenges of running a Ferrochrome Plant.
Previous experience and industry-specific knowledge having dealt and worked with the Safety regulations on Chrome is essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Driving the companys process by ensuring the systems and teams are in place.
Managing and driving a team of people within the Operations / Plant environment ensuring that they are able to do a full assessment of the plant.
Driving the plant by improving the process using aluminium to ensure that all systems are in place especially as it operates within a hazardous environment.
Leading the ongoing development and modification of product strategies to optimize costs, product performance and financial return for the business
Implementing improvement strategies to increase efficiency, spend performance, customer delivery, and safety record.
Coordinate and direct departmental activities so that the necessary sustaining maintenance and established production schedules are met at optimum cost.
Ensuring safe, efficient, cost effective and reliable production that meets changing volume requirements and production schedules.
Ensuring effective Safety and Health programs are in place to meet or exceed safety goals.
Monitoring key program indicators to identify periodic need for program effectiveness review and improvement.
Monitoring the workflow and inventory levels to ensure that schedules are met and bottlenecks are identified and corrected.
