Duties & Responsibilities

Remove plants in the preparation of new/old beds, prepare the soil using the correct procedure and level to the agreed standard and landscape plan.
Plant plants according to the planning plan, according to the standard and procedure for planting within agreed time frame.
Water plants/ lawn according to agreed water region for each species and schedules.
Load or removal of soil/compost /dead or new plants according to the correct procedure within agreed time frame.
Fertilise, top dress, weed, feed lawns, mulch and feed beds according to the correct procedure, and schedules within agreed time frame.
Prune clip, stake and train plants in accordance to horticultural best practices.
Keep edges of flower beds according to the standards set for the garden.
Assist in keeping pathways, watercourses and drain clean/ clear of obstruction at all times.
Report on pest and diseases.
Raking of leaves on the lawns.
Washing of tools after every use.
Assist in litter management in and outside parameters.
Developments of new gardens inside the animal enclosures.
Blowing of leaves using a blower

Desired Experience & Qualification

Basic knowledge of indigenous plants/ trees, weeds, and alien plants/trees
Knowledge of garden tools and how to use them
Safety rules and regulations
Organizational Policies and Procedures
Deliverables according to daily job cards
User/ instruction manuals of equipment and tools
Problem-solving (Basic)
