DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AMONG OTHER MAY INCLUDE

Ensure that the necessary requirements for the preparation of the work are done for printing and pre-press (litho printing and digital printing)
Pre-flighting and ensure that Artwork is Print ready
Develop design briefs
Able to re-touch artwork files
Operate digital printing machines
Working with a range of graphic software, e.g. Adobe Suite and Coral Draw
Ensure that work is prioritized – Managing workflow to get orders out on time
Manage needs and estimate the time required to complete the work
Presenting finalized ideas and concepts
Work with external service providers, liaise and support other departments (collaborate with internal staff)
Come up with innovative ideas to redefine a design brief within time and budget
Adhere to internal quality management control systems and procedures
Ensure the presentation of accurate information
Incorporate changes recommended by the clients into the final design
Review designs for errors before printing them, commit to the company’s zero-defect policy – Essential

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Matric
National Diploma in Graphic Design
Electronic Origination (DTP/CTP)
Valid driver’s license

REQUIREMENTS

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience working experience as a Graphic Designer in the printing environment
Layout, design and retouching skills
Illustrative skills and working layouts ready for print
Proofreading skills
Impositions
Draw Die lines for packaging
Abode Suite
Coral Draw
Imposition Software

The Incumbent must be:

Self-motivated, result orientated self-starter with integrity
A Team player who can also work on their own with minimal supervision
Organized with the ability to multitask in a variety of projects
Meticulous attention to detail
Highly energetic
