Live in Housekeeper wanted immediately: APPLY HERE

We are a 4-Star graded self-catering guest lodge consisting of eight (8) units located in Rivonia, Sandton rated by Tripadvisor as #1 of 96 Speciality Lodging in Sandton. We take hospitality seriously and are looking for a stay-in housekeeper with previous experience in the hospitality housekeeping department. For operational reasons, the present requirement is for an initial 6-month contract period, with a 3-month probation period. Upon successful completion of the contract period, a permanent position may thereafter be offered.

Housekeeping will involve everything required to ensure a flawless guest experience in the accommodation and may often, in the absence of the lodge manager involve handling enquiries, reservations, check-ins and guest relations during guests’ stay.

A brief work description is as follows:

Maintaining the accommodation to a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and hospitality
Stripping and making beds and the orderly arrangement of all furniture
Perform inspections of accommodation during check-ins and check-outs using standard checklists
Stocking and maintaining of room amenities
Attending to guests’ housekeeping requirements
Carrying out required laundry activities
Tidying and cleaning of operational areas
Liaison with external service providers of laundry and housekeeping services
Maintaining housekeeping inventories
Preparing housekeeping requisitions
Liaison with the external grounds staff to maintain a wholesome cleanliness of the entire property
Carrying out guest relations duties in the absence of the manager
Regular liaison with the manager on guest lodge requirements

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, motivated, enthusiastic and have great people skills. Furthermore, the candidate must possess the following:

South African residency – be legally entitled to reside permanently in South Africa
Impeccable integrity and honesty. Character references must be provided
Recent experience in hospitality housekeeping – guest lodge or hotel
A friendly disposition and genuine desire to meet guests’ expectations
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
Laundry experience
Passion for cleanliness and hygiene
Excellent communication skills
Team player
Physically fit and be if good health
Whilst not essential, computer skills and possession of a valid driver’s licence may be an advantage.
