ZZ2 needs an Operational Manager at our nursery located in Ceres.

We are looking for a competent / qualified Nursery Manager. We need a dynamic and knowledgeable person who has a passion for fruit tree production, who is goal orientated and who can systematically complete tasks, as well as be successful within the established ZZ2 ethical code and value system.
Primary responsibilities include:

Daily operational management of the nursery system as a whole, as well as integration with other functional departments that include Human Resources, Finance, Production and Marketing.

·
Liaising with various suppliers of plant material as well as managing internal as well as external customer relationships.

·
Maintain workplace discipline and standards as well as apply occupational health and safety legislation.

·
The early ordering and management of appropriate nursery material.

·
Optimal management of functional aspects such as irrigation, pest control and plant nutrition.

·
Daily record keeping of outputs, reconciliations of plant losses and staff productivity.

·
The suitable candidate will be responsible for all financial aspects of the nursery.

·
With the strategic framework of ZZ2 as a guideline, manage the principles of quality and excellence, within affordable and appropriate internal capabilities, structures and expertise.

Eligible requirements include:

·
Relevant BA. Agric, BSc. Agricultural, Scientific or Business qualification with at least 5 years of nursery or relevant experience.

·
Above average knowledge and application of Microsoft and GSuite packages.

Candidate Requirements
Requirements of the position include:

· Ability to manage conflict and have good interpersonal skills.

· Candidates must be able to work independently as well as in a team and must have good communication and leadership skills.

· Must be purposeful and able to operate under pressure.

· The successful candidate will be required to perform their duties after hours from time to time.
