Our core capabilities are Design, Simulation, Assembly, Integration and Testing. We are looking to expand our thermo fluids department with a dedicated and hands-on mechanical engineer with experience in aerospace thermal flow design.

This challenging but exciting opportunity provides wide technical exposure in a stimulating environment, ideal for someone who is keen on personal growth in the thermo fluids engineering domain.

Responsibilities:

The main duties to be performed by the successful candidate will be:

Detail thermal flow design of turbomachinery.
Preparation of project design reports.
Client technical support.
Detail thermal flow design on systems within the Thermo-Fluid Propulsion department.
Performing analyses using software (see preferred skills below)
Writing design/project reports.
System-level testing support in RSA and at the client abroad.
Assist with system engineering and project management tasks.
Assist with manufacturing requirements and quality assurance.
Liaising with client(s) and supplier(s).
Guidance and training of client(s) engineers.

Requirements

Execution of the duties and responsibilities pertaining to the position demands the following experience, skills, and knowledge

BSc. in Mechanical Engineering
At least 3 years’ relevant experience
Experience in CFD modeling (preferably ANSYS)
Innovative design abilities
A meticulous detailed approach
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
We value character and the interpersonal abilities to work in teams

In additional to the above, the following will be advantageous:

MSc. in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in gas turbines – modelling and testing (compressor, combustor and turbine)
Experience in internal and external ballistics of rocket systems
Experience in CAD modeling (preferably SolidWorks)
Experience with instrumentation and testing
