Job Description – FOH
As a Front of House Team Member, you are often the first or last interaction that our customers have with Ou Meul and it’s important that it’s a great impression they get from you. You are responsible for making sure our customers have an amazing experience in our restaurants.
List of Responsibilities & duties, including but not limited to:
- Take reservation phone calls
- Greet customers
- Provide excellent customer service
- Explain the menu items to customers
- Answer questions from customers about food, drinks and retail
- Take food and drink orders
- Share information with customers about the status of their takeaway orders
- Verify customers are satisfied with their takeaway orders
- Up-selling additional food and beverage products to customers
- Enter each item ordered into the restaurant register system
- Deliver receipts to customers
- Accept payment for the meal
- Communicate customer orders to kitchen staff
- Deliver orders to customers
- Attend scheduled team or shift meetings
- Manage and balance the till float
- Manage and process any payouts
- Train new cashiers
- Follow company procedures on Health & Safety and Food Safety
- Refilling condiments
- Polishing cutlery
- Folding serviettes
- Cleaning menus
- Sweeping
- Mopping
- General cleanliness of the store i.e. Floor is litter free; Windows are dust and dirt free; Special boards are dust and dirt free; Menu boxes are dust and dirt free both inside and out.
*Requirements:
- Communicate in an appropriate professional manner with customers and other employees
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions
- Knowledge of culinary terminology
- Able to stand continually throughout an eight hour shift
- Visual acuity to see take customer orders and review customer bills
- Attend work as scheduled, including shifts on weekends & holidays
- Required to work special functions and events
