British American Tobacco has a new exciting opportunity for a Corporate Tax Analyst to be based in our office in Cape Town, South Africa.
Our new colleague will be performing a range of corporate tax compliance and/or advisory activities to support the effective management of BAT’s corporate tax position, including corporate tax liabilities, tax reporting, transfer pricing and ensuring compliance with all statutory positions.
Provide pro-active, high quality specialist advice, guidance and expertise to execute tax management processes in areas such as corporation tax, transfer pricing, inter-company recharge management.
Main responsibilities include:
Providing general corporate tax support, including monitoring new tax legislation in the Area, and assessing the impact on BAT companies
Performing corporate tax compliance work, including corporate tax payment calculations and returns and income tax return preparation and filing
Performing corporate tax reporting work, including preparing monthly income and deferred tax calculations and journals and assisting with group tax reporting
Monitoring withholding tax compliance in the area
Assisting with the completion of transfer pricing reports for companies in the Area
Assisting with the collection of information and preparation of responses for all internal and external income tax and transfer pricing audits for companies in the Area
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Economics/Law
A post-graduate tax qualification is a great advantage
Between 3-5 years of relevant experience with minimum of 3 years in Direct Tax with a focus on Corporate Tax
Excellent corporate tax technical knowledge
Excellent influencing skills and an ability to work effectively with all levels of staff within the company and externally
Good communicator, assertive
Rational decision-making capabilities
