The purpose of the role is to oversee the Front Office Team, which is the main connection between the Guest, the Accommodation and the various departments in Hospitality. To manage the first impressions of our guests & exceed their expectations.

Duties and responsibilities:
Oversee the entire Front Office operation to maintain high standards
Evaluate levels of guest satisfaction and monitor trends, with a focus on continuous improvement
Ensure regular and VIP Guests are recognised and that the Front Office department operates with a sales attitude and promotes the hotel brand’s loyalty scheme.
Maximise room occupancy at best rates and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services, facilities and adventures
Set departmental objectives
Set up work schedules and rosters,
Capturing staff hours to time sheets
Set up policies and standard operating procedures with the focus of improvement
Monitor the appearance, standards, and performance of the Front Office Team Members with an emphasis on training and teamwork
Set up a training plan & manage all HR related queries
Ensure team members have current knowledge of products, services, pricing and policies, as well as knowledge of the local area, and are continuously trained to learn and understand practices
Maintain good communication and working relationships with all departments
Monitor staffing levels to meet / cover business demands
Conduct monthly communication meetings and produce minutes
Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures
Recruit, manage, train and develop the Front Office team
Comply with security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation and be willing to represent
Act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management systems
Conduct site inspections
Ensure proper handovers are conducted between shifts
Managing Accounts Receivables, debtors and Group master accounts
Willingness to practice sustainability and invest in the vision of the establishment.

Anticipate potential problems and business opportunities within the planning process

Prioritise between various duties and business requirements
Demonstrate a systematic approach to organisation and administration

Candidate requirements:
Matric
Tertiary qualification in Hospitality
3 years’ experience in a management role
Experience in hospitality sector essential
Proven MS Office Skills
Valid driver’s licence and own transport essential
