Housekeeper at our property, situated in Gardens. Once in Cape Town is a hybrid hotel model, combining the amenities and safety of a hotel, with the fun and atmosphere of a backpackers hostel. It is frequented by foreigners and locals alike, and best known as a place for people to connect and learn about a new side to the famous Mother city.

Role Summary:
Responsible for making sure all assigned areas of the hotel (rooms, reception, Kitchen, communal areas, bathrooms) are clean, neat, and tidy. This includes any indoor household cleaning and organizing tasks assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
Daily Responsibilities:
Arrive and report for duty on time
If you do the early shift (7 or 9 AM) decide with other team members which communal areas you will clean (3 communal bathrooms, kitchen, outside sitting area, outside shower, storage rooms).
Take part of the daily meeting with the Head of Department and discuss:
Staffing
Occupancy
PIE
Assign tasks
Information related to revenue: budget, tours.
Ensure neatness of your appearance
Greet guests when meeting when encountering them in the hotel in a friendly manner.
Collect your caddie and replenish products missing before you do the rooms round.
Knock on the room door and announce yourself by saying “Housekeeping” before entering.
Do not access rooms that have the “Do not disturb” sign hanging from the doorknob.
Take used linen from all rooms and hand them to Head of Department
Clean each room by following the Cleanliness checklist to ensure quality standards are met
Mark tasks on the checklist that you cannot perform, communicate with Head of Department and follow up for completion.
Make sure all rooms assigned to you have been serviced to completion.
Maintain housekeeping equipment in good condition, replenish when necessary.
Report on any shortages, damages or security issues to the Head of Department.
Ensure the security of guest belongings in the rooms at all times when you are working in the rooms.
Clean storage room and communal bathrooms before leaving in the afternoon.
Deep clean areas if and when assigned by the Head of Department
Requirements:
Able to speak English (advanced level)
Detail-oriented and deliver outstanding customer service
Hands-on approach
A team player
Following Instructions and Procedures
Reliable (timekeeping)
Impeccable personal hygiene
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Housekeeping
Hospitality experience or similar B2C business with high volumes
