Executive Manager: Finance–Head Office (Durban)
Position Description: Reporting to the CEO, the Executive Manager: Finance leads all day-to-day roles of financial, budgetary, accounting operations, supply chain and asset management with functional responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, payroll, and grants administration.
Executive Manager: Finance is further responsible for development of financial management strategies, policies and procedures to ensure the NCI is financially sound, stable and compliant to Treasury Regulations.
Requirements:
Post graduate qualification in Finance Management/ Accounting. Masters qualification will
be an added advantage. CPA is preferred but not required. Minimum of 10 years of finance and accounting
experience at a managerial level, including finance, accounting, audit, and analysis (including gathering,
evaluating, presenting, and reporting financial information to management and external stakeholders). Solid
experience in coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis,
accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments. * Non-profit
experience, with experience with fund/grants accounting preferred. * Proficiency with Intact or other
accounting software and excellent Excel skills. While the above is a description of the essential functions of the position, other duties may be assigned.
Key performance areas: The Executive Manager: Finance will be responsible for determining the strategic
direction of the financial management function, including overall financial strategy of the NCI and
overseeing the operations of the Finance department.
Competencies required: Problem solving and decision-making skills, relationship building, teamwork,
people management, planning, organising and control skills. Good knowledge of Finance legislation,
Corporate governance, work ethics and values in Finance management.
