Job Role:

Responsible for the Group Fund’s financial operations across its businesses in South Africa, UK and Europe.

Deliver best-in-class Financial Governance and Strategies, ensuring that the finance function effectively underpins the business as it grows in size, scope and complexity.
Be a trusted advisor and sounding board for the CFO, CEO and Management team.
Support them through difficult decisions and fast-changing situations, and challenge their thinking where appropriate.

Responsibilities:

Leading the Group Fund’s (GF) finance team (spread internationally).
Plan, implement and manage all finance-related activities across the business.
Managing relationships with Bank and Group-level finance and other stakeholders.
Ensure the business needs are met, whilst delivering against Governance / Reporting requirements.
Optimising all aspects of the business’s financial operations, as well as driving foundational change in several areas.
Organise the function optimally and establish clear roles, responsibilities, and lines of communication.
Act as an advisor and mentor to your direct reports, and drive a culture of excellence and accountability across the team.
Implement and maintain Financial control.
Overall responsibility for GF’s Group consolidation and group Reporting packs.
Responsibility for Tax compliance and Reporting, with lead role in structuring where required.
Month-end Processing, Analysis and Reporting.
Prepare, analyse, review, challenge, interpret and present all financial information and key metrics.
Regulatory reporting, analysis and presentations.
Budget and forecast analysis and reporting.
Pro-active analysis of financial information.
Ad hoc analysis, reporting and financial presentations.
Define, document and implement new MI requirements.
Strategic insights and recommendations based on analysis of financial and business information.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

CA(SA)

Experience/Skills:

15+ years relevant experience.
Knowledge of all International Financial Reporting Standards.
Tax knowledge and experience is essential.
Previous experience working within a multi-national organization is beneficial.
Excellent ability to interpret Financial information.
People Leadership – leading transformational change is key for this role.
Establish productive, successful relationships with demanding Senior stakeholders
Highly skilled analytical problem solver.
Strong commercial mind-set.
Distil complex ideas or problems into simple, effective plans and solutions.
Strategic thinking, yet be comfortable adopting a hands-on approach as needed, and staying close to the detail.
