De Bos Farm, belonging to Bosman Adama (Pty) Ltd, situated in Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, invites an enthusiastic, energetic, and innovative LEADER to take overall responsibility for the management of all farming activities of Vineyards and Protea farms.

Responsibilities will include the following: –

Maintaining high standards in vineyard practices such as cultivation, thinning, pruning, suckering, canopy management, planting and replanting, irrigating, harvesting and general tidiness of area where vineyards are planted
Determination and application of water and fertilizer
Effective and successful application of disease and pest control
Implement an effective Quality management system to obtain optimal quality and quantity at minimal cost
Irrigation monitoring with due consideration for fruit quality and growing strength of vines
Overall housekeeping and tidiness of all farms and its supporting areas
Ensuring Health and Safety compliance in all areas alleviating risk to the employees and to the business as a whole

General Maintenance of: –

– roads, bridges, trenches, districts, and sites.

– all buildings on the farms

– machine/equipment such as tractors and implements

– roads, bridges, trenches, districts, and sites

– the irrigation systems and the control thereof

Effective management of Human Resources: –
– Planning and managing employees everyday tasks to meet operational plan

– Fair and equitable management of employees according to the HR policies and procedures.

– Ensure that the team are fully competent, motivated and committed to achieving the goals of the business

The ideal candidate must have atleast 5 years practical hands-on agricultural management experience with a relevant qualification. Must be fully computer literate and au fait with general MS Office. Working knowledge of IPW and Wieta Certification will be a huge advantage.
